From broiling and baking to toasting and roasting, the Breville BOV800XL has it all. In this video review, you can find out if it’s the right toaster oven for you.
Homemade biscuits, chicken, and brats (the sausage, not kids)… cookies, brownies, and casseroles have all been made in this spacious toaster oven. It may be a little bigger than your average microwave, but its additional Bamboo Cutting Board accessory will help you save space on the counter.
If you hate having to wait for your kitchen oven to heat up – maybe you’re fed up with the whole kitchen getting warmer each time you use your oven – investing in the Breville BOV800XL will save you hours slaving away in the kitchen… and we’ll tell you how in our comprehensive review below.
Why Breville BOV800XL?
In comparison to other models on the market, the Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven is significantly larger and has an impressive 10 smart cooking functions – Toast, Bagel, Bake, Roast, Grill, Pizza, Cookies, Reheat, Warm and Slow Cook. Plus, it even comes with a handy 13-inch pizza pan!
This Breville toaster oven has been created with Element iQ for the perfect bake, whatever you’re making… but we’ll tell you more about Element iQ and what it is later on in our review.
The Breville BOV800XL Smart Oven Pro does have a convection feature that helps bake your cookies, cakes, and pizza to perfection – and most users find that although the convection fan makes a little sound, it mostly goes unnoticed.
The preset functions are put in place to help users if they are unsure of how to cook their food, but are easily changeable if the temperature or time is not ideal for your taste or bake. Once you have customized a function to your preferred time/temperature, this toaster oven will keep it as the default until the toaster oven is unplugged. It will then reset to its previous settings.

What is Element iQ and how does it work?
Element IQ technology transfers heat across five quartz elements to deliver precise, stable heat exactly where you want it when you want it. It’s a sophisticated heating system enabling more efficient cooking. Plus, if you’re cooking more than one dish, Element iQ will automatically adjust the cooking time according to the heat already in the oven, so there’s less chance of your food burning.
Warranty
Breville’s BOV800XL is available with a one-year limited product warranty.
Is the Breville BOV800XL worth the price?
As previously mentioned, the Breville BOV800XL is more on the pricey side, however, it comes with a whole host of features you may struggle to find with cheaper models. The length of time owners have used this oven before it breaks varies greatly – some reviews say 1 year, others say 3 years, and some people have found it to work an incredible 8 years.
Despite the Breville BOV800XL’s durability being called into question, many have purchased another one after their last BOV800XL died – showing just how much people love this toaster oven’s wide range of features.
